Tadbik, a Israel-based packaging, label and technology company, is expanding its presence in the United States with a new facility in New Jersey. This strategic move aims to enhance the company’s presence in the growing flexible packaging market, and will complement Tadbik USA, its well-established US manufacturing plant in Fairfield, NJ.

Established over 40 years ago in Israel, Tadbik has grown into a comprehensive packaging provider, serving diverse markets. The company’s commitment to innovation and excellence has driven its global expansion, with operations beyond Israel and the US, as there are also Tadbik locations in Europe, Asia, and South America. Packaging and label manufacturing takes place in Israel, the US, and Russia.

The company is emphasizing the US market. In fact, last month – for the first time – Tadbik Connect, an annual education and networking event for customers and partners, was held at the New Jersey location. The event featured presentations such as “Innovation Meets Responsibility: Tadbik’s Sustainable Solutions,” “Elevating Packaging Standards: Innovations in Labels and Shrink Sleeves,” and “Advancing Solutions in Flexible Packaging.”

Tadbik Connect attendees were also given an extensive tour of the Fairfield facility, which houses both digital and flexographic printing equipment, from HP Indigo and Mark Andy, respectively. In addition, the location has two Prati finishing machines, shrink sleeve converting equipment, a comprehensive prepress and platemaking department, and machinery dedicated to producing single serve coffee pod lids – an important and growing part of Tadbik’s business.

A Focus on Flexible Packaging

On hand for Tadbik Connect 2025 was CEO Gili Drori and Shikma Malka, CEO of Tadbik US who oversees the New Jersey operation. They discussed the state of the business, and the expansion plans for the near future.

According to Drori, Tadbik’s annual sales total $200 million across three divisions – Flexible Packaging, Product Decoration – which includes pressure sensitive labels and shrink sleeves, and the RFID-focused Advanced Technology segment.

Drori says the company’s Flexible Packaging division now accounts for $100 million in sales – 50% of the overall business. Flexible packaging is going to be what the new, forthcoming facility will specialize in, and Tadbik’s leadership team is very excited for what the future holds in this arena.

Currently, Tadbik is on the lookout and researching the perfect location for a greenfield site. It will be in New Jersey and close to Tadbik US. The plan is for the new site to be operational in 2026.

Malka and Drori share that the facility will be fueled by the company’s two main “growth engines” – retort pouches and lidding films for the single-serve coffee market.

Drori refers to the retort pouch as a “can killer” in its effectiveness in replacing aluminum cans, and he says the packaging format is growing by 6.5% annually, due to advantages in barrier properties, extended product shelf life, ease of use, and shelf appeal.

The other growth engine that will be a primary focus of the new site is coffee lidding film. Tadbik produces three types: Lock Seal, Easy Peal, and Recloseable. Gili states there is huge demand in the US for it, and describes it as a “very sensitive product” featuring micro-perforations. While the lidding film is considered a niche market, Tadbik has its sights set on growing it exponentially.

“It’s not just for coffee,” Drori says, “These products can apply to any beverage that can be brewed.”

Today, the company is supplying its US customers with a wide range of packaging products, however, some of these products – such as the retort pouches – are manufactured in Israel and then shipped to the US. Once operational, the new facility will greatly shorten lead times and enhance overall customer service for local clients.

Investments will be made in new equipment to support the growing business at the new facility. This includes a wide format flexo press, solventless laminator, slitter, and a laser scoring machine for the manufacturing of lidding film.

While equipment resources are important, Drori stresses that it’s Tadbik’s personnel and their commitment to customer service that are paramount to the company’s success. He concludes, “We are a family here, with people that have been with us for 25 years. It’s our human resources that give us the confidence to make this significant investment in the US market.”
